Please Note: This is a ‘drop in’ session to enable teachers to call in at a convenient time within the scheduled course timings. Please book a place so we know how many attendees to expect.
The ‘drop in’ has been scheduled to coincide with many schools’ ‘assessment week’ to help ensure writing assessments are as accurate as possible across the school. The course will also provide early support to any Y6 teachers as they plan their writing curriculum for the Spring Term.
For any teacher, new or experienced, in Y1-Y6 who wishes to discuss samples of pupil writing or writing approaches used in their class with a focus on next steps/assessment and ideas for further writing outcomes.
Building upon the ‘drop in’ sessions offered during the KS1 and KS2 assessment cycles which have enabled good professional discussion and provided one to one support to teachers for next steps in their writing planning, this session is open to all teachers Y1-Y6.
Teachers can bring samples of writing from their pupils to discuss standards and next steps, discuss planning approaches for writing, use of quality texts to inspire writing or come along with a colleague to standardise their assessments together. The agenda is open and aims to support the teacher/school’s writing process with practical advice for planning objectives and possible additional resources recommended by other teachers.
