New or Returning to Year 6 Teachers and Teaching Assistants

This session will consider:

• Classroom approaches to reading, writing and maths to prepare pupils across the year for their KS2 assessments,
• Lessons from moderation with a booklet of pupil writing samples illustrating a range of different writing opportunities used by Y6 teachers last year
• Tips and techniques to apply across the year in reading and spelling
• A brief look at last years’ test materials and DfE Y6 writing standardisation materials used with the moderation team

Please Note: This session will be immediately followed by the ‘Short Suspense Stories’ writing intervention and resources offered by Debbie Ainscoe, aimed at accelerating progress to GDS in writing by the end of Year 6.
