Children’s Mental Health – Supporting Children and Young People in the School Setting

At the end of this course, staff will be able to:

• Understand the importance of supporting children’s mental health in the school setting
• Understand some of the basics of trauma theory and how it affects children’s brain development
• Understand some of the basics of attachment theory and how negative attachments can affect learning in the classroom
• Understand how we can help children which have mental health difficulties
• Apply theoretical concepts to their own professional practice
