Course Aims
The core aims of the session are:
- To examine the background to current changes & the core principles of a robust and effective approach to assessment.
- To explore different approaches to visualising and developing successful assessment approaches.
- To reflect on assessment in action within own school through scaffolded leadership learning conversations.
Target Group
This session is aimed at Headteachers and or school leaders with responsibility for assessment across the school or subject leaders who are looking at redeveloping or reviewing their approach.
Course Content
The session will involve reflecting on the changes to assessment, examining the core principles of effective approaches within schools, exploring current research, unpicking the implementation of different techniques/tools and critically evaluating the current position of their own school. Participants will have opportunities for professional dialogue with colleagues from a range of settings, take away adaptable assessment tools for reflection/evaluation and consider what the keys to successful foundation subject assessment are.
